Consumer Affairs Committee

The Consumer Affairs Committee examines consumer protection issues at the national, state and local levels. Its members are encouraged to present topics, prepare position papers, and develop programming. The committee hosts monthly meetings, which include presentations from thought leaders in consumer financial services, advertising, and data privacy, among other topics impacting consumers. In addition, the committee organizes an annual Consumer Financial Services Law Symposium which features high level speakers presenting on recent consumer protection case law, legislation, and regulation. The committee is often called upon to provide analysis of local, state, and federal law and regulation. The committee often collaborates with other City Bar committees, particularly when opining on state and local legislative issues and organizing programs.
